Experts warned of haiti earthquake - cnn.com

The Haiti earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 have caused several damaged of the capital of Haiti.  Experts have warned that the Hispaniola was at risk of major earthquake.

"We were concerned about it," said one of the paper's authors, Paul Mann, a senior research scientist at the University of Texas' Institute for Geophysics, cnn.com reported.

According to cnn.com that there are five scientists presented the papers during the Geological Conference in March 2008 in Santo Domingo stating that fault zone on the south side of the island posed "a major seismic hazard.

So, what happened in Haiti should be given extra focus and importance about how to prevent these kind of major disaster.
